Hole 9 - Perfect Play Explained

This is one of the most exposed parts of the golf course and usually plays back into the prevailing wind. This short part 4 offers players a good birdie opportunity but the hole is fraught with danger. Two deep put bunkers protect the left side of this fairway, steep slopes of thick rough are down the right side must also be avoided at all cost. An ideal tee shot, with only a short iron, should be aimed at the left half of this green in order to avoid the steep slope on the right. One pot bunker lies to the left of the putting green and this is one you don't want to visit. Putting on this green is never easy as there are many undulations to consider. A 2nd shot finding the left half of the putting surface offers the best opportunity of a makeable putt.
