FUN-FILLED ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN: 4-8 YEARS

Our impressive and fun packed playroom, The Wee Explorers, is situated within the historic main building of the hotel. The playroom is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am - 4pm. Parents will be able to leave their children, over the age of 3, under the supervision of a qualified team for only £5 per hour. The playroom is packed with toys, games and books as well as an arts and crafts area.

Young guests of Turnberry, between 4 and 8 years old, can enjoy a variety of activities at the resort:

• Pony Rides
• Splash time in the pool
• Pitch & Putt competitions
• Wee Explorers Outdoor Play
• The Wee Owl Experience
• Kite Flying

PONY RIDES

Accompanied by a guide, take pony rides around the grounds of the estate. Make friends with one of our beautiful ponies and spend some time learning about their individual characters.

£20 for a 30 minute session, 4-8 year olds must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.


SPLASH TIMES IN THE POOL

Our youngest guests are welcome to use the pool at Turnberry at any point during their stay, however we have also set aside 2 dedicated hours each day in the pool when an array of inflatables, balls and toys can be brought out and enjoyed by everyone.  

Daily from 4pm - 5pm, children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

PITCH & PUTT COMPETITIONS

Across the road from the 18th of the Ailsa, at the bottom of the slope up to the hotel lies the 12-hole pitch-and-putt course. A little gem and during championship tournaments like The Open, often a scene where competitors in T-shirts and shorts play alongside their children.

On Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays throughout the summer months the golf professionals will host family pitch & putt competitions on this fun 12 hole course.


WEE EXPLORERS OUTDOOR PLAY

For our 4-8 year old guests exclusively, a chance for mum and dad to enjoy some peace and tranquility and your children to have some fun and fresh air. Supervised by an experienced guide, Wee Explorers Outdoor Play involves an array of action packed activities from kite flying and beach combing to visiting the Turnberry farm and meeting the ponies. 

Private sessions - £50 for two hours/£90 for four hours/£120 for 6 hours. Siblings will be charged an additional £15 each. 


THE WEE OWL EXPERIENCE

Give your child an insight into the world of owls with this great falconry taster. Meet "Moby" the owl and friends and learn why these incredible birds are so special. Watch as they take flight and return to our experienced guides.

£45 for a 45 minute experience. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied by their parent or guardian.


KITE FLYING

Kite flying is a fun activity for all. Learn how to assemble and fly a beautiful kite in the great outdoors. See how it floats through the sky, learn a trick or two from an experienced guide and as a wee memento, take your kite home with you. Your new hobby will be the envy of all your friends!

£30 per hour. Children must be over 7 years of age.
